What Information Is Needed for a Quote?

1. Dimensions: Thickness × width × length, in millimetres.
2. Material: Unfilled or filled PTFE; include the APAFLON® grade code if known.
3. Quantity: Number of pieces or total sheet requirement.
4. Finished dimensions and machining allowance: Clarify whether the dimensions describe a finished component or stock intended for machining.
5. Tolerances and surface requirements: Include critical dimensions, flatness, parallelism and surface requirements.
6. Cutting or machining: Supply a revision-controlled drawing for holes, grooves, pockets or special geometry.
7. Operating conditions: Temperature, chemical exposure, load, movement, counterface and lubrication.
8. Documentation: Order-specific reports, tests or compliance requirements.

Eight Factors That Affect PTFE Sheet Pricing

• Material grade: Unfilled and filled formulations differ in cost and behaviour.
• Dimensions: Thickness, width and length determine material requirements and the production or cutting scope.
• Quantity: Set-up, production and inspection requirements can vary with order size.
• Tolerances: Tight tolerances may require additional machining and more detailed inspection.
• Cutting and machining: A sheet and a component machined to a drawing are not priced on the same basis.
• Cutting yield and layout: The cutting plan can affect material utilisation.
• Additional tests and reports: Define order-specific requirements beyond standard quality control at the outset.
• Delivery conditions: Specify packaging, destination and required date. Stock availability and lead time are confirmed in the written quotation.

Custom-Size PTFE Sheets

APAMEYA assesses custom production and cutting within a maximum width of 1,000 mm and a maximum length of 1,000 mm. Manufacturability is confirmed at quotation stage together with thickness, tolerances, quantity and grade.

A description such as “500 mm sheet” leaves other dimensions unclear. Use thickness × width × length. For stock intended for machining, distinguish finished-part dimensions from the required machining allowance.

Unfilled or Filled PTFE?

No single grade is suitable for every application. Carbon, glass fibre or bronze fillers are considered for particular technical requirements; they must not be assumed to improve every property simultaneously.

For chemical contact, provide the fluid, concentration, temperature and contact duration. For moving contact, provide load, speed, counterface and lubrication. State electrical or industry-specific compliance requirements separately. Do not infer material equivalence from colour or a trade name alone.

How to Compare Quotations

The same price per kilogram does not necessarily mean the same material or scope of supply. Compare:

• Material grade and grade code, where applicable.
• Finished dimensions, tolerances and machining allowance.
• Whether the quotation covers sheet, cut stock or a finished component.
• Quantity, taxes, packaging, delivery and quotation validity.
• Required technical documents and additional tests.
• Stock availability and lead time confirmed in writing.

Quality Control and Lot Traceability

Quality control is integral to APAMEYA’s production process. Every manufactured product undergoes quality control and does not proceed to packaging until the checks are complete. Dimensional and tolerance verification and visual inspection are performed in-house.

All production stages are tracked from the raw-material lot to the finished product. The link between the lot, manufacturing process and product is maintained.

The technical properties of our products are verified through periodic testing and assessment by independent organisations. This does not imply a separate independent test for every order or production batch. Order-specific testing and reporting requirements are assessed at quotation stage.

Can Weight Be Estimated?

Dimensions, grade, quantity, tolerances, machining and delivery conditions vary. Request quotations against the same technical scope.

Is a drawing required?

Full dimensions, quantity and grade support an initial review of a simple sheet enquiry. Supply a revision-controlled drawing where cutting, machining or special tolerances are required.

Is an APAFLON code a dimension or order number?

No. The material code is separate from product form and dimensions. Include the known code alongside complete dimensions and quantity.

How do I confirm stock and lead time?

Current stock availability and lead time are confirmed by written quotation after the enquiry has been assessed.
